United Services is seeking a dedicated and experienced Domestic Violence Shelter Team Manager to join our Domestic Violence Program (DVP) serving Northeastern Connecticut. This leadership position provides operational oversight and supervision within our 24/7 emergency shelters, ensuring safe, supportive, and high-quality services for adults and children fleeing domestic violence. The Domestic Violence Program offers comprehensive services to individuals impacted by domestic abuse, including 24/7 emergency shelters, court advocacy, referral and information services, support groups, counseling, case management, community education, and professional training throughout Northeastern Connecticut. Working in partnership with the Program Manager, the Shelter Team Manager provides day-to-day operational leadership, staff supervision, program oversight, quality assurance monitoring, and support for program development and continuous improvement initiatives.

What You Will Do (Day-to-Day): Program Oversight & Quality Management Provide operational oversight for assigned domestic violence shelter services. Ensure compliance with grant requirements, domestic violence program certification standards, agency policies, and quality assurance expectations. Oversee collection, completion, and review of program data, reports, and funder-required documentation. Staff Leadership & Supervision Supervise assigned staff and complete work performance evaluations and reviews. Orient and train new employees on agency policies, procedures, protocols, and job expectations. Communicate agency updates, program information, policy changes, and procedural requirements to staff. Coordinate 24/7 coverage for both shelters to ensure adequate program coverage and service delivery. Program Development & Operations Partner with the Program Manager in service planning, program development, and quality improvement initiatives. Support efforts to maintain program occupancy and effective shelter operations. Participate in reporting activities, staff meetings, and ongoing program evaluation. Assist in resolving client and provider concerns while advocating for effective systems-level solutions. Shelter Environment Ensure shelter facilities provide a safe, healthy, and welcoming environment for residents and staff. Monitor facility conditions and implement needed improvements.
Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 2nd shift hours, some flexibility available.
Salary Range:
$58,000 - $63,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
Minumim Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of relevant experience; OR Associate's degree and four (4) years of relevant experience. Demonstrated knowledge of human services, domestic violence services, shelter operations, or related fields. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Previous supervisory experience.
