Job Title:
Surgical Care Coordinator Orthopaedic Associates Location:
Ft.
Walton Job Summary:
We are seeking a detailed-orientated, strong team player and highly organized candidate to join our group as a Surgical Care Coordinator. You are responsible for the coordination and education of services for our patients' receiving surgery with our Orthopedic/Spine Physicians. You will play a vital role in patient scheduling, procedure coordination and surgery chart preparation.
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule patients for Orthopedic/Spine Surgeries Verify patient's insurance benefits and coverage; collecting any out-of-pocket patient responsibilities Obtaining pre-operative clearances from Primary Care Providers, Cardiologist, Nephrologist, etc Coordinate with patients their pre-operative, surgery and post-operative appointments and requirements Coordinating any changes with Physicians surgery schedule with Clinical Director and/or facilities Preparing weekly surgery charts for clinical team members Communicate effectively and efficiently with patients, providers, team members and facility staff Entering and updating patient information in the EMR system Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times Any other job duties as assigned
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Customer Service Experience Anatomy knowledge Insurance knowledge Excellent oral and written communication & analytical skills Requires adherence to all policies and procedures, including standards for safety, attendance, punctuality and personal appearance Ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively, remain calm in busy or stressful situations and work well with minimal supervision; skill in exercising initiative, judgement, discretion and decision-making to achieve practice objectives Knowledge and adherence to
HIPPA, Compliance and OSHA Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent Minimum one year of experience as a Surgical Coordinator Experience with EMR software preferred•Athena Experience with Microsoft applications•Word, Excel, Office 365
