Job Description

The Seminole Tribe of Florida Health Department is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator to join our Eligibility & Utilization Services team, based in Lakeland, FL! In this role, you'll help connect patients, families, healthcare providers, and health services throughout the Lakeland and Tampa service areas . From helping patients navigate eligibility and benefits to coordinating referrals and appointments, you'll play an important role in helping patients access the care and resources they need. Position Summary The incumbent in this position is responsible for assisting the Care Team (provider, medical assistant, nurse, behavioral health provider, etc.) by proactively managing and coordinating care for patients. The individual serves as the primary liaison between medical providers and patients; provides advocacy, information and referral services to patients and families to address their medical needs. The incumbent coordinates and processes new patient registrations in accordance with eligibility guidelines. The incumbent in this position is responsible for maintaining and ensuring patients' medical files are current, complete and properly arranged for easy retrieval within the Seminole Tribe of Florida's Medical Health Department. The individual organizes notes, x-rays, test results, etc. to scan electronically into Electronic Health Records (EHR). Qualifications Associates degree is required. Minimum of two (2) years of college coursework from an accredited college/university in Health/Business Administration or related field. A minimum of two (2) years of experience working in the medical field is required. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology is required. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrate excellent telephone etiquette skills. Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver's license. Incumbent must be able to travel and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
Pay:
$21.15 - $26.44 per hour
