Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking an energetic and highly experienced Director of Health and Wellness to lead the clinical operations within a vibrant senior living community. This pivotal role involves overseeing all health-related services, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a compassionate environment that promotes residents' well-being. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in nursing administration, long-term care, and senior living, coupled with exceptional leadership skills to manage multidisciplinary teams effectively. Your expertise will directly impact the quality of care delivered, enhancing residents' lives through innovative health programs and operational excellence. Duties Lead and coordinate the overall health and wellness services across the senior living community, including assisted living, and memory care, Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to individual resident needs while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations such as Medicare and HIPAA. Supervise nursing staff, including nurse managers and direct caregivers, providing guidance on clinical best practices, documentation review, and regulatory adherence. Oversee the management of medical records using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with HIPAA standards. Monitor resident health outcomes by reviewing MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments, conducting quality assurance audits, and managing care transitions smoothly. Ensure staff are trained on medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and long-term care regulations to maintain high standards of patient care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop innovative programs that enhance resident engagement, memory care initiatives, and overall wellness strategies. Maintain regulatory compliance by staying current with changes in long-term care regulations and Medicare requirements; prepare for inspections and audits proactively. Requirements Proven experience in assisted living facilities or nursing homes with a strong understanding of long-term care regulations and Medicare guidelines. Extensive background in nursing administration with demonstrated supervisory experience managing multidisciplinary healthcare teams. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems, medical records management, documentation review processes, and regulatory compliance standards such as HIPAA. Familiarity with resident's (person-centered care), MDS assessments, memory care protocols, and home health or hospice care services. Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff while fostering a positive team environment focused on exceptional patient care. Excellent understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy related to elderly populations, and acute care practices. Experience managing care facility teams in a regulated environment with a focus on documentation accuracy and clinical supervision. Ability to navigate shift management effectively while ensuring continuous quality improvement initiatives are implemented successfully.
