This is primarily a patient-facing administrative position with the opportunity to assist with basic clinical duties based on experience, training, and the needs of the practice. We are especially interested in candidates with previous medical assisting experience who are comfortable working in both front-office and clinical support roles. Responsibilities Greet patients and provide a welcoming, professional experience Check patients in and out for appointments Answer and manage incoming phone calls Schedule and reschedule patient appointments Monitor provider schedules and assist with filling available appointment openings Collect and verify patient information Scan and upload documents into patient charts Assist with patient forms and routine front-office requests Communicate professionally with patients, providers, clinical staff, and other team members Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Help maintain an organized and professional front-office environment Assist with basic medical assistant duties as trained and assigned Obtain vital signs and assist with other routine clinical support as needed Assist clinical staff and providers with patient care needs within the scope of the position Opportunity for additional cross-training in specialized services as the practice continues to grow Assist with other administrative or clinical duties as needed What We're Looking For The right person for this position will be someone who: Is dependable and punctual Has strong customer service and communication skills Can remain professional and courteous in challenging situations Is comfortable receiving direction, feedback, and training Takes initiative and looks for what needs to be done Can prioritize work without needing constant supervision Is able to balance phones, patients, scheduling, and other responsibilities Works well as part of a team Is comfortable adapting as the practice grows and operational needs change Understands the importance of professionalism, discretion, and patient confidentiality in a behavioral health setting Is interested in learning additional clinical skills and taking on new responsibilities as the practice grows Preferred Qualifications Previous medical office experience preferred Previous medical assisting experience strongly preferred Medical Assistant certification is a plus but not required Experience obtaining vital signs and providing basic clinical support is a plus Behavioral health or psychiatry experience is a plus Experience with Athenahealth or another electronic health record system is a plus Willingness to cross-train in additional patient care services is highly desirable Schedule Full-time position. Candidates should have dependable availability during our regular office hours.
