Job Description

Responsibilities The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for managing and supervising a team of clinical therapists to deliver effective, evidenced-based therapy and support services to clients. This role combines clinical oversight with administrative duties, including supervising treatment planning, conducting performance evaluations, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing professional development opportunities for team members. This role also oversees Hillcrest's clinical internship program, orienting master's level students to Hillcrest along with coordinating their clinical work/internship/practicum at the agency. The Clinical Supervisor also collaborates with other departments and external partners to optimize client care and access to resources. Addition, you will: Supervise, mentor, and provide clinical guidance to a team of therapists, including interns, ensuring they deliver high-quality, trauma-sensitive, client-centered care.



Conduct (and document for) regular individual and group supervision sessions to discuss case plans, therapeutic approaches, and clinical challenges.



Support clinical staff in developing treatment plans, setting goals, and evaluating client progress.



Facilitate interdisciplinary case consultation meetings.



Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Services to develop and refine programs, ensuring alignment with best practices and client needs.



Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of therapeutic programs through client outcomes, feedback, and data analysis.



Establish and maintain quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with ethical standards, clinical guidelines, and organizational policies.



Identify training needs and organize continuing education opportunities for clinical staff focusing on evidenced-based practices, industry trends, updated rules and regulations. and emerging therapeutic approaches.



Provide coaching and support for clinical therapists' professional growth, clinical skills development, and career advancement.



Oversee clinical assessments, crisis intervention, and treatment planning to ensure clients receive individualized and effective care.



Provide clinical oversight, consultation, and support for cases requiring immediate or intensive interventions.



Support clinicians to process vicarious trauma, transference, and/or other issues that may arise as part of supervision or working as a therapist.



Ensure all documentation, including client records and treatment plans, is accurate, timely and compliant with regulatory standards (e.g. HIPAA, state licensing boards).Develop and enforce policies regarding client confidentiality, record-keeping, and treatment protocols. Assist with hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations for clinical staff, collaborating with HR and other departments as needed. Act as a liaison between clinical team and other departments, promoting a cohesive, interdisciplinary approach to client care. Develop relationships with external partners, including healthcare providers, social services, and community organizations, to enhance client referrals and resources. Represent the organization in external forums, conferences, and community events as needed.



Depending on need inside the programs, this role may carry a small caseload, particularly of those clients who may require higher levels of supervision or present with more complex therapeutic needs.



Other duties as assigned. Requirements Education Master's degree in a mental health field with clinical focus that allows licensure.

Experience:

Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in a behavioral healthcare setting required, education in clinical supervision of a least 6 hours.

Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.



Experience with or knowledge of clinical interventions and therapies.



Proficient and experience in interviewing, writing, assessments, and diagnostic skills.



Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

Licenses/Certifications:

Mandatory Reporter of Child/Dependent Adult Abuse Certification or the ability to obtain within four (4) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter required.



Holds licensure in the state of Iowa as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor or Licensed Independent Social Worker.
