Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced
  • Director of Laboratory
  • to provide strategic and operational leadership for all laboratory services.
This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing laboratory operations, regulatory compliance, financial performance, quality improvement, staff development, and business growth while ensuring the delivery of safe, accurate, and efficient laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute the strategic vision and operational goals for the laboratory.
  • Foster a positive culture focused on teamwork, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and resource management to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory and accreditation standards, including
  • CLIA, CAP, CMS, HIPAA, OIG, FMLA,
  • and
  • ADA•.
  • Oversee laboratory quality assurance, patient safety, and operational performance initiatives.
  • Drive business growth through client development, customer satisfaction, and service expansion.
  • Recruit, mentor, develop, and retain high-performing laboratory staff.
  • Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical departments to optimize laboratory services.
  • Manage employee relations, performance evaluations, staffing, and professional development.
  • Lead strategic projects, process improvements, and organizational change initiatives.
  • Qualifications
  • Required
  • Bachelor's degree in
  • Medical Technology
  • or a related scientific discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • Minimum
  • 5 years of supervisory or management experience
  • .
    • Strong knowledge of:
    • Laboratory operations and management
    • CLIA, CAP, CMS, HIPAA, OIG, FMLA, ADA, and other regulatory standards
    • Financial management and budgeting
    • Strategic planning and project management
    • Quality improvement and process optimization
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
    • Preferred
    • Master's degree (MBA, MA, or MS).

    • Laboratory Director

    • Hospital or reference laboratory leadership experience.
    • Minimum
    • 8 years of supervisory/management experience
    • in a hospital or reference laboratory.
