As Referral Coordinator, you will support both direct and indirect patient care, serving as a key liaison between patients, families, staff, and providers—scheduling ancillary services, verifying orders, coordinating authorizations, and ensuring all paperwork and equipment are in place for procedures. You'll play a vital part in upholding hospital policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Schedules and confirms patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries, ancillary services, and other medical consultations. Obtains prior authorizations and completes paperwork for ancillary diagnostic appointments. Answers telephones and directs calls to appropriate staff. Answers telephone according to the WMH standards of behavior and communicates information to the appropriate personnel/family. Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized and function under stressful situations. Treats patients, families, and staff with respect and dignity. Communicates appropriately and clearly with supervisor, co-workers and physicians. Requirements High School Graduate or Equivalent Maintains current CNA licensure in the state of Idaho or current Registered or Certified Medical Assistant Current BLS Certification. Ability to use sound judgment and cope with potentially stressful situations Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with standards of performance improvement and organizational values (e.g., efficiency & financial responsibility, safety, partnership & service, teamwork, compassion, integrity, and trust & respect). Ability and willingness to exhibit behaviors consistent with principles for service excellence. Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
