The Director oversees WIC, High‑Risk Family Case Management, Breastfeeding Peer Counseling, Genetics, and seasonal Farmers Market Coupon Programs; supervises staff across multiple clinic sites; ensures compliance with state and agency requirements; and drives outreach to strengthen community awareness and participation. The ideal candidate is passionate about maternal and child health, committed to serving families, and energized by education, outreach, collaboration, and expanding access to services.

Responsibilities:

• Program compliance — Ensure operations meet all IDPH, IDHS, and ESHD policies and requirements; monitor and implement new state guidelines.
• Quality oversight — Lead routine quality assurance activities to maintain compliance and service standards.
• Staff leadership — Supervise and support staff across multiple clinic sites while fostering a collaborative, development‑focused work environment.
• Community engagement — Coordinate outreach and educational activities to increase awareness and participation; build strong partnerships with community organizations and service providers.
• Professional development — Participate in meetings, trainings, and review boards to strengthen program knowledge and community collaboration.
• Program improvement — Identify opportunities to enhance services, expand participation, and develop new resources.
• Documentation standards — Maintain accurate records and ensure confidentiality in accordance with laws and agency policies.
• Additional duties — Perform other responsibilities as assigned by ESHD.

Required Skills, Education, & Experience:

• Nutrition Credentials — Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Nutrition or a related field; Registered Dietitian (RD) credential strongly preferred .
• Breastfeeding Experience — Demonstrated experience providing breastfeeding support, counseling, or lactation education to mothers and families.
• Maternal & Child Health Background — Five or more years of experience serving families with young children; maternal and child health, public health, nutrition, breastfeeding support, case management, or related program experience preferred.
• Professional Relationships — Ability to maintain effective working relationships with employees, patients, families, healthcare personnel, and community partners.
• Assessment Skills — Ability to conduct comprehensive assessment interviews and develop individualized care plans.
• Community Resource Knowledge — Thorough knowledge of community resources and experience integrating them into client care.
• Spanish Language — Spanish‑speaking ability preferred.
• Transportation Requirements — Must own a dependable, properly insured automobile and possess a valid driver's license.
• Other Duties — Performs additional duties as assigned by ESHD.
• Compliance — Adheres to all policies, procedures, confidentiality standards, and HIPAA requirements.
• Funding Contingency — Position is contingent upon continued grant funding.
