We are looking for a manager to lead our Psychiatric Emergency, Crisis Residential, and Crisis Stabilization programs. As a trusted behavioral health organization committed to providing care in the community since 1955, we offer an array of comprehensive services for youth, adolescents, and adults.
Job Scope:
The Crisis Programs Manager provides clinical and administrative leadership across the Psychiatric Emergency Program, Crisis Residential Program, and Crisis Stabilization Program. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, supervising staff, ensuring 24/7 crisis service coverage, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and grant requirements. The Manager supports high-quality, recovery-oriented care by providing clinical consultation, overseeing admissions and discharge processes, coordinating with community partners, and stepping in to deliver direct services as needed during crisis situations. Primary Responsibilities Provide overall leadership, supervision, and operational oversight for the Psychiatric Emergency Program (PEP), Crisis Residential Program (CRP), and Crisis Stabilization Program (CSP) Ensure 24/7 program coverage, staffing schedules, and daily operations across crisis services Provide ongoing clinical supervision, consultation, and support to staff responding to psychiatric and substance use crises Oversee admissions, referrals, waitlists, pre-authorizations, and discharge planning processes across programs Ensure completion of assessments, treatment planning, and clinical documentation in compliance with regulatory and funding requirements Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including billing data, monthly statistics, and required grant reporting Develop, implement, and maintain program policies and procedures in compliance with Rule 132/140, Joint Commission, Medicare, and grant requirements Provide direct clinical services as needed, including crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and disposition planning Coordinate with hospitals, law enforcement, community partners, and other providers to ensure continuity of care and appropriate referrals Oversee pre-admission screenings and coordination for higher levels of care, including hospitalizations Serve as on-call clinical support and provide emergency consultation as needed Performance Requirements Active in program development and design of activities. Supervising and evaluating clinical staff and programs. Providing full range of clinical services including assessment, counseling, and rehabilitative services. Developing an individual treatment plan that addresses clinical needs and reflects client concerns and input. Establishing rapport and maintaining supportive contact with clients. Assessing and counseling clients in psychiatric crises and activating emergency procedures as appropriate. Knowledge of human development across the life cycle as applicable to the clinical population served. Education and Experience Master's Degree in a Human Services field with valid Illinois clinical license (LSW/LPC) Minimum of 5 years clinical experience, including crisis intervention and stabilization Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams Experience working with individuals with mental health and co-occurring substance use disorders across the lifespan, CADC is preferred Strong assessment, diagnostic, and crisis intervention skills Ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners Knowledge of Rule 132/140, Joint Commission standards, and grant reporting requirements preferred Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations as needed Must have valid Illinois driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable automobile Schedule Monday
  • Friday 11am
  • 7pm (40 hours a week).
