I. General Summary

• Reports to the Director.
• The position requires an in-depth understanding of the agency's philosophy of treatment, the eligibility process, and criteria. Basic knowledge of substance abuse and dual diagnosis is necessary.
• Provides direct supervision to bachelor's and master's level social work students and their client caseloads.
• Supervises trauma counselors and victim advocates.
• Maintains a client caseload, providing individual and family therapy for adults and children and facilitating support groups for clients accessing ASSIST services. II. Principal Responsibilities and Tasks
• Engages in program planning, service development, and educational in-service training within social work areas.
• Manages special issues related to sexual assault, including rape trauma syndrome and post-traumatic stress disorder.
• Facilitates support groups for victims of sexual violence across the lifespan.
• Provides individual and family therapy for victims of sexual violence and their families.
• Coordinates educational programs with law enforcement, the prosecutor's office, and other multidisciplinary agencies.
• Networks to offer educational programs and training sessions.
• Actively participates as a member of the Johnson County Sexual Assault Response Team.
• Organizes and manages internship and externship opportunities.
• Possesses clinical training and direct experience counseling children and adults impacted by violence and abuse.
• Maintains client files.
• Keeps all client files up to date in NCAtrak and ensures all forms are signed by clients as needed.
• Monitors trauma counselor schedules and client caseloads.
• Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
• Remains on-call to respond to victims on-site or at the hospital as needed.
• Maintains client and family confidentiality.
• Protects health information in compliance with HIPAA privacy guidelines and regulations.
• Prioritizes tasks and handles complex assignments effectively under pressure, time constraints, and irregular schedules.
• Addresses issues related to ethnic and economic diversity.
• Manages the medical, legal, and social responsibilities in caring for sexual assault victims. III. Secondary Responsibilities and Tasks
• Conducts safety planning sessions with clients.
• Assesses and intervenes as necessary with victims of sexual violence.
• Provides advocacy for victims of violence.
• Creates and delivers educational programs on sexual violence.
• Coordinates services with victims of violence. IV. Qualifications and Requirements
• A Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of clinical experience in trauma services.
• Licensed as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT is also required.
• Specialized clinical training that addresses symptomology associated with complex trauma (ex: EMDR, Brainspotting, Neurofeedback, A.R.T., hypnotherapy, play or sand tray therapies).
• The candidate must possess the ability to communicate effectively with individuals from various backgrounds using age-appropriate communication skills.
• The candidate is an experienced, compassionate professional who will lead our team and help lead trauma-informed clinical services for adults, children, and families.
• Proficiency in general office computer systems, including Microsoft Office, Google calendar, etc is necessary.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills are also essential. V. Contacts-Internal/External
• Providing direct support to victims of sexual assault and other forms of violence, as well as their families
• Collaborating with Nurse Practitioners, forensic nurse examiners, social work students, and the medical director.
• Engaging with law enforcement agencies and the Prosecutor's office for Johnson and surrounding counties.
• Partnering with professional and paraprofessional individuals from various community agencies. VI. Special Requirements
• Willingness to be on-call and work irregular hours due to the nature of the program
• Maintenance of professional liability insurance throughout employment
• Need for judgment and discretion in selecting and adapting therapeutic interventions for clients
• Patience and sensitivity for working in an emotionally charged field with a variety of professional and paraprofessional personnel
• Experience providing support to clients and family members in crisis
• Effective response to stressful situations, both mentally and physically
• Ability to quickly process information
• Requirement for good judgment in complex problem-solving situations involving victims
• Provision of quality care that upholds the dignity of all
• Possession of reliable transportation and a valid Indiana driver's license
