Apex Wellness is a new wellness practice opening in Merrillville, with two physicians on our founding team . We help men and women with weight management, metabolic health, hormone care, and overall wellness. We're hiring a hands-on Medical Assistant / Patient Care Coordinator who enjoys both clinical care and front-office work . You'll draw labs, assist with injections, welcome patients, manage scheduling, and follow up with people interested in our services. We also want you to enjoy coming to work. As the practice expands, responsibilities may develop into lead medical assistant duties, patient coordination, staff training, or clinic operations. Growth and compensation reviews will reflect your interests, performance, and practice needs. We'll provide training on Apex's services, systems, and workflows. You bring strong core skills, good judgment, and a willingness to learn. What you'll do Support clinical care: Perform blood draws, prepare and label specimens, obtain vital signs and histories, and administer provider-ordered injections within your training and under appropriate supervision.
Keep visits running smoothly:
Prepare rooms, maintain accurate electronic medical records, track lab orders, and route results and medical questions to the provider.Manage the front office:
Welcome patients, answer calls, schedule appointments, collect payments, and coordinate checkout and follow-up.Build patient relationships:
Respond to inquiries, explain approved service and pricing information, and help interested patients book consultations. Our approach is helpful and welcoming, never pushy.Keep the clinic ready:
Maintain clean workspaces, monitor supplies, and help improve everyday workflows. What we're looking for Medical assisting experience with recent, regular blood draws and hands-on injection experience. Comfort handling front-desk responsibilities, scheduling, computers, and electronic medical records. Warm communication, dependable follow-through, attention to detail, and good judgment about when to involve the provider. CMA, CCMA, or RMA certification is preferred.
