What You'll Do In this role, you'll lead the daily operations of the surgery department while ensuring staff provide safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. You'll oversee staffing, scheduling, patient care standards, documentation, equipment and supplies, while serving as a clinical resource and leader for the department. You'll also support hiring, staff development, performance management, quality improvement, service recovery, and the implementation of departmental policies and procedures. Working closely with nursing leadership and other departments, you'll help coordinate resources, resolve concerns, improve outcomes, and maintain a strong culture of teamwork and patient-centered care. Manager, Patient Care Services Job Responsibilities Oversee daily department operations and ensure high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care. Lead, supervise, and support nursing staff while serving as a clinical resource and role model. Coordinate staff schedules, evaluate staffing needs, and adjust staffing levels to meet patient care demands. Ensure patient records and electronic documentation are complete, accurate, and compliant with standards. Monitor equipment, supplies, and other resources to ensure staff have what they need to provide patient care. Participate in hiring, interviewing, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations for department staff. Collaborate with educators to identify staff development needs and coordinate orientation, training, and competency validation. Lead or participate in quality improvement, quality assurance, service recovery, and patient experience initiatives. Assist with departmental budgets, cost-saving initiatives, product analysis, and effective resource utilization. Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, procedures, and standards while collaborating with hospital leadership and other departments. What You Bring You bring strong nursing leadership experience, sound clinical judgment, and the ability to effectively manage a fast-paced patient care environment. You have excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills that allow you to lead diverse teams, coordinate staffing, and keep departmental priorities on track. You're confident in coaching and developing staff, resolving conflicts, managing resources, and making decisions that support both patient outcomes and operational efficiency. You also bring a strong customer-service mindset, a collaborative leadership style, and the ability to build trust with patients, staff, physicians, and hospital leadership. A bachelor's degree, relevant nursing experience, and leadership experience are essential for success in this position. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of three years of job-related experience, including at least one year of leadership experience. Strong knowledge of nursing care practices, equipment, procedures, and techniques relevant to the department. Preferred Qualifications Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana preferred. #MHONursing26
