Job Description
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the nursing department's management, the RN assumes the responsibility for the nursing processes of assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation needed to deliver safe, evidence based care within their scope of practice. Leader is responsible for providing care to sexual assault victims and completes head to toe assessments, detailed genital exams, skilled forensic evidence collection, detailed discharge instruction and referrals. Responsible for carrying out patient care in accordance with physician's' orders. Provides for well-being of patients by assessing condition, providing treatments and administers prescribed drugs and documents progress and other observations in the patient chart.Responsibilities:
Collects and assesses initial and on-going data about the health status of the patient. Initiates and/or revises an individualized plan of care that includes immediate and long-term outcomes for the patient/family and reflects the plan of the entire health care team. Carries out interventions safely and in compliance with policy to facilitate achievement of expected outcomes. Evaluates patient response to intervention/therapy based upon expected outcomes. Provides patient education by explaining procedures, medications and giving instructions at a level the patient can understand; addresses patient's questions and concerns; verifies patient informed consent when indicated. Documents and communicates all required components of patient care. Completes head to toe assessments, detailed genital exams, skilled forensic evidence collection, detailed discharge instruction and referrals. Participates as a member of the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART). Oversees the SANE program and provides education to community and staff. Evaluates patient response to intervention/therapy based upon expected outcomes. Designates all patient and personnel assignments working in tangent with Clinical Director's. Assures the development, implementation and updates of the individualized plan of care. Develops monthly work schedules for organization. Sends all copies of schedules to Clinical Director for approval prior to being sent out. Prepares Documentation of Disclosure Care Collaborative weekly report. Assists with accreditation readiness. Works in conjunction with Clinical Director to ensure Rural Health Manual (RHC) is always up to date and clinics are in compliance with regulatory accreditation requirements. Assists in developing policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain standards of care and regulatory requirements. Arranges and coordinates meetings as needed including room scheduling, notices, special event requests and arrangements for catering.Qualifications:
Required:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelors Degree in Nursing (BSN). Three years of prior emergency department/triage experience. Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice. Knowledge of principles, methods and techniques involved in performing general nursing services and adapting or modifying standards of nursing practices for care of specific medical cases. Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the State of Kansas or has work permit from the State Board of Nursing. BLS and ACLS certification Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC). Additional certification may be required for certain patient care settings or populations. Specific information and the timeframe in which such certification must be attained will be provided by the department director/manager/supervisor at time of hire/transfer into department.Preferred:

Frequent Infection Control:
Initial and Ongoing training in dealing with infection control. Trainings could include but are not limited to, blood borne pathogens, bodily fluids and bio hazardous materials as it applies to your daily work environment.HIPAA:
