Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and compassionate Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) specializing in Pain Management to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will deliver expert pain assessment, develop individualized treatment plans, and administer innovative therapies to improve patient comfort and quality of life. This position offers an exciting opportunity to utilize your extensive clinical expertise, including advanced procedures and medication management, to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive pain assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and detailed patient histories to determine pain etiology and severity. Develop and implement personalized pain management plans utilizing pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies, including botulinum toxin treatments and esthetic laser procedures. Administer injections, IV infusions, dermal fillers, and perform procedures such as spinal taps or catheterizations with precision and adherence to sterile techniques. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across inpatient, outpatient, hospice, palliative care, and behavioral health settings to coordinate comprehensive patient care. Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters, treatment plans, CPT coding, ICD-10 coding, and medical records management. Educate patients on pain management options, medication administration, lifestyle modifications, and health coaching strategies to promote self-care and recovery. Participate in clinical research initiatives or quality improvement projects aimed at advancing pain management practices and ensuring compliance with NCQA standards. Qualifications Current APRN licensure with certification in pain management or related specialties; additional certifications in hospice & palliative medicine or geriatrics are a plus. Proven experience working in acute care environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers; ICU or emergency medicine experience highly preferred. Demonstrated proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or Athenahealth; familiarity with CPT coding, ICD-9/10 coding essential. Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to pain management therapies including botulinum toxin treatments and dermal fillers. Experience with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (Pediatrics), geriatrics (Geriatrics), neonatal ventilator care (Neonatal ICU), or individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous. Excellent clinical assessment skills combined with the ability to perform procedures such as suturing, venipuncture, catheter care, tube feeding management, and sterile processing techniques. Exceptional communication skills for triage calls, patient education sessions via telehealth platforms or in-person visits.
