Heart-Centered Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse leader to serve as Health & Wellness Manager for a residential education and career-training campus in Manhattan, Kansas. This isn't simply another nurse-manager position. You'll help lead healthcare within a community devoted to helping young adults build a future—completing their education, developing career skills, earning credentials, building confidence, and preparing for independent adulthood. And you'll do it in Manhattan, Kansas, in the heart of the beautiful Flint Hills, surrounded by rolling prairie, open landscapes, trails, and a vibrant university community. The role The Health & Wellness Manager helps lead and coordinate the campus Health & Wellness program, supporting the medical, nursing, behavioral-health, dental, substance-use prevention, and overall wellness needs of students. You'll combine clinical nursing judgment, healthcare leadership, mentoring, program management, and direct student impact.
Responsibilities include:
Leading day-to-day Health & Wellness operations Supervising and supporting healthcare staff Coordinating medical, dental, behavioral-health, and related student services Supporting students with chronic and ongoing healthcare needs Reviewing services for quality and compliance Coordinating appropriate outside healthcare and follow-up Supporting clinical processes, records, and reporting Helping guide student health education and wellness initiatives Collaborating with center leadership and interdisciplinary professionals Participating in an on-call consultation rotation as assigned The RFQ specifically requires three years of related experience, including two years of supervisory experience for the manager position. We're looking for an RN leader who Holds an active, unrestricted Kansas RN license or applicable multistate privilege Has at least 3 years of relevant healthcare experience Has at least 2 years of supervisory or healthcare-leadership experience Brings strong clinical judgment and organizational skills Can lead a team while remaining approachable and connected to the people the program serves Values prevention, education, mentorship, and relationship-centered healthcare Nurse managers and experienced clinical leaders from community health, primary care, school/university health, public health, behavioral health, occupational health, residential programs, youth services, or similar environments are especially encouraged to apply.
