Job Description
SHR Talent is partnering with a healthcare client in Overland Park, KS in its search for an Administrative Director of Surgical Services. This permanent, onsite leadership opportunity offers a weekday schedule with no weekends and is ideal for an experienced perioperative nursing leader who is passionate about driving clinical excellence, operational performance, and exceptional patient outcomes. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Administrative Director will provide strategic oversight of Surgical Services within a high-volume Level II Trauma Center while leading a multidisciplinary team committed to delivering outstanding patient care. The Administrative Director of Surgical Services will oversee the operational, clinical, and financial performance of a comprehensive perioperative services department that currently includes 11 Operating Rooms, with an expansion underway to 13 Operating Rooms as part of a major capital improvement project that will also double the size of Sterile Processing (SPD), Pre-Op, and PACU. The department performs approximately 450-500 surgical cases each month across multiple specialties including Cardiovascular, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery/Spine, General Surgery, Gynecology, Urology, Vascular, and Trauma. This leader will foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and exceptional patient outcomes. The ideal candidate is an accomplished acute care Surgical Services leader with strong operational, financial, and clinical expertise. This individual will partner closely with physicians, executive leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to strengthen surgical service lines, improve patient throughput, optimize resource utilization, and develop high-performing clinical teams.
