JOB DESCRIPTION

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Usual working space is a well-ventilated area. Requires standing, walking, turning, bending, stooping, and lifting. Clear speech to communicate effectively with customers (e.g. patients, families, and other team members). Fine and gross motor skills. Environment may be stressful at times, therefore ability to work under stressful conditions is necessary. Lifting up to 50 lbs may be required, anything over 50 lbs should be a team lift or with the use of a lifting aid. Also subject to bloodborne pathogens at all times in patient care. May have occasional exposure to radiation during radiology procedures and to dangerous chemicals (cleaning and disinfecting agents).

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS & KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Communication utilized daily. Record keeping is vital in this job. Continues own education for self-improvement. Reviews, analyzes, and inputs data into appropriate databases. Maintains up-to-date forms and files pertaining to indicators. Employee Health Activities Maintains employee health records. Oversee the onboarding process of new employees as per employee health plan as follows: Obtains baseline health assessment on all newly hired staff members Administers TB testing/screening per state regulations Orders lab titers for immunity testing and administer vaccines as requested Maintain record on employee influenza vaccination rate. Ensures initial N95 Fit testing is completed Oversee annual compliance for TB screenings and N95 Fit testing for all employees or contracted staff Administers Flu vaccine to employees during flu season and keeps record of those vaccinated or declinations Provide initial consultation for employee/provider BBP exposures and complete follow-up appointments Reports to NHSN as required employee vaccination rates
Infection Prevention:
Assist with new employee orientation presentation on Infection Control and Prevention. Monitor departmental illness reports and trends to identify potential infection control concerns and support a safe workplace environment. Assist with data collection and management. Other Risk Management and Quality activities as assigned. May be requested to be member of a Performance Improvement team. Frequently accesses email to stay up to date on information within the organization and provides a way of communication between staff members. Performs all procedures according to established policies and procedures of OCH and adheres to legal compliance policies and other regulatory issues.
