Job Description:
Job Summary Responsible for ensuring continuous hospital operations by coordinating nursing staffing, patient admissions, and bed assignments. Provides clinical expertise and nursing leadership to support staff and optimize patient care delivery. Oversees departmental operations to ensure compliance with policies, physician orders, and regulatory standards. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate patient placement and care coordination. Maintains accountability for clinical decision-making, quality outcomes, and patient satisfaction. Essential Functions- Leads and directs nursing staff in daily operations, fostering a positive and professional work environment.
- Coordinates and manages staffing, scheduling, and coverage to ensure adequate patient care and compliance with budgeted resources.
- Performs and oversees nursing skills and procedures according to established standards, providing direct clinical care as needed.
- Assesses patient, family, and staff learning needs, and develops and implements educational programs for professional growth and competency.
- Evaluates and improves patient care delivery through rounding, documentation audits, observation, and investigation of complaints, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards.
- Collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners to optimize patient flow, care management, and outcomes.
- Provides leadership and guidance in crisis situations, manages conflicting demands, and resolves patient and staff concerns.
- Supports performance improvement initiatives, participates in data collection, and applies evidence-based practices to enhance operational efficiency and patient care.
