Company Overview The Shelby County Humane Society is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to rescuing, sheltering, and rehoming homeless animals in Shelbyville, Kentucky. Our mission emphasizes humane treatment, responsible pet ownership, and reducing overpopulation through education and spay/neuter programs. We strive to create a compassionate environment for animals and the community alike. Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Clinic Assistant Manager to assist with our veterinary and administrative teams. In this vital role, you will support the delivery of exceptional care for our animals . Your role will help us maintain high standards of medical office management while fostering a positive environment for staff and animals. Responsibilities Manage medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems like Pet Point and Clinic HQ ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Coordinate with veterinary professionals on medical office procedures, patient management software, and clinical workflows to optimize patient care. Handle customer service inquiries professionally while maintaining high standards of medical administrative support and client communication. Assist with routine animal care as needed. Safely handle animals of different sizes, temperaments and medical conditions. Assist with bookkeeping using Quickbooks software. Answer incoming phone calls and return messages in a professional and timely manner. Assist with social media postings and communications. Manage clinic inventory and assist with reordering as needed. Other clinic duties as needed. Qualifications Proven experience in office management within a veterinary setting; prior clinic experience is highly preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ideal candidate is compassionate toward animals while understanding that this is a fast-paced, hands-on position. The ability to move between animal care, veterinary clinic duties, administrative work and customer service is highly preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Pay:
$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
