Houma, LA Position Summary The Clinical Director provides clinical leadership and oversight for an addiction treatment program serving individuals with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of safe, ethical, evidence-based, trauma-informed, and person-centered care. The Clinical Director supervises clinical staff, establishes clinical standards and policies, monitors quality of care, supports regulatory compliance, and collaborates with medical, nursing, behavioral health, and administrative leadership to ensure coordinated treatment and positive patient outcomes. Essential Responsibilities Clinical Leadership

• Provide overall clinical direction for substance use disorder treatment services.
• Develop, implement, and monitor evidence-based clinical practices.
• Ensure treatment services are trauma-informed, culturally responsive, recovery-oriented, and person-centered.
• Oversee assessment, treatment planning, crisis intervention, discharge planning, and continuing-care services.
• Ensure appropriate treatment of co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Provide clinical consultation regarding complex cases, risk concerns, and treatment interventions.
• Promote an environment that supports patient dignity, safety, recovery, and engagement. Staff Supervision and Development
• Directly supervise clinical staff, including counselors, therapists, social workers, case managers, and other behavioral health professionals.
• Conduct regular individual and group clinical supervision.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance evaluations, corrective action, and professional development.
• Identify training needs and coordinate continuing education.
• Promote teamwork, accountability, professional boundaries, and effective communication among clinical staff.
• Ensure appropriate staffing levels and clinical coverage. Program Management
• Oversee day-to-day clinical operations and ensure services are delivered according to program standards.
• Develop and maintain clinical policies, procedures, protocols, and workflows.
• Monitor clinical productivity, documentation, treatment-plan completion, and discharge-planning processes.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing leadership to coordinate integrated patient care.
• Participate in program development, strategic planning, budgeting, and expansion of clinical services.
• Assist with developing new treatment modalities and services based on patient and community needs. Quality Assurance and Compliance
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations and organizational policies.
• Maintain readiness for accreditation and regulatory surveys.
• Monitor clinical documentation and participate in chart audits.
• Track quality indicators, patient outcomes, incidents, grievances, and other performance measures.
• Develop and implement corrective action and performance-improvement initiatives.
• Ensure appropriate confidentiality and protection of patient information.
• Participate in utilization review and medical-necessity processes as appropriate. Patient Safety and Risk Management
• Provide clinical leadership during psychiatric or behavioral health emergencies.
• Assist with assessment and management of suicide risk, overdose risk, withdrawal concerns, aggression, and other safety issues.
• Ensure appropriate escalation of clinical and medical concerns.
• Review significant incidents and participate in root-cause analysis and prevention strategies.
• Promote overdose prevention, harm-reduction education, relapse-prevention practices, and recovery supports as appropriate to the program. Interdisciplinary Collaboration
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, counselors, therapists, case managers, peer-recovery staff, and administrative leadership.
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment-team meetings.
• Coordinate care with hospitals, outpatient providers, community organizations, families, and other referral partners when appropriate and authorized.
• Promote continuity of care across levels of addiction treatment. Required Qualifications
• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, or another closely related behavioral health field.
• Current independent clinical license appropriate to the state of practice, such as

LISW-S, LPCC-S, LISW, LPCC, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT

, or equivalent.

• Clinical experience providing treatment to individuals with substance use disorders.
• Demonstrated experience supervising behavioral health professionals.
• Knowledge of addiction treatment principles, evidence-based practices, and co-occurring disorders.
• Strong knowledge of clinical documentation, treatment planning, risk management, and behavioral health regulations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications
• Experience as a clinical supervisor, program manager, or clinical director in an addiction treatment setting.
• Experience with residential, detoxification, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, or outpatient substance use treatment.
• Experience with CARF, The Joint Commission, state behavioral-health licensing, or other applicable accreditation standards.
• Certification such as Licensed Independent Chemical Dependency Counselor (LICDC) or equivalent addiction-specific credential.
• Experience implementing evidence-based approaches such as motivational interviewing, CBT, contingency management, and trauma-informed care.
• Experience working with Medicaid, commercial insurance, utilization review, and medical-necessity requirements. Core Competencies The successful candidate should demonstrate:

• Continuity of care and successful discharge planning Work Environment This position operates in a behavioral health/addiction treatment environment and requires regular interaction with patients, families, clinical staff, medical professionals, community partners, and regulatory representatives.

The Clinical Director may be required to respond to urgent clinical situations and participate in an on-call or after-hours rotation depending on program needs.

Pay:

$95,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
