$83,000 - $120,500/year Position Summary They are seeking an experienced Phlebotomy Manager - Inpatient to lead and manage inpatient phlebotomy operations within the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine. The manager will provide leadership and operational oversight while ensuring laboratory quality, regulatory compliance, patient safety, staff development, and efficient delivery of laboratory services. This role works closely with the Operations Director, Chief of Laboratory Medicine, Medical Directors, and other laboratory leaders. The position may also provide oversight across laboratory subspecialty areas such as Blood Bank/Transfusion Services, Central Receiving, Chemistry, Hematology, Phlebotomy, Point-of-Care, or Rapid Response Laboratory . Key Responsibilities Lead and manage inpatient phlebotomy and assigned laboratory operations. Provide oversight and leadership for laboratory staff and daily departmental activities. Ensure compliance with CAP, The Joint Commission, CLIA, OSHA, DPH, FDA, AABB , and other applicable regulatory standards. Maintain quality assurance and quality control programs and ensure timely corrective actions. Monitor laboratory safety, patient safety, incident reports, and emergency preparedness. Provide 24/7 call coverage as required. Manage staffing, scheduling, overtime, attendance, and departmental resources. Participate in operating and capital budget planning and fiscal management. Oversee equipment maintenance, service agreements, and implementation of new technology or methodologies. Lead recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, orientation, competency assessment, performance management, and staff development. Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, annual evaluations, and continuing education opportunities. Promote cross-training and collaboration among laboratory sections. Work with medical, nursing, and hospital leadership to ensure high-quality laboratory services. Monitor turnaround times, proficiency testing, quality metrics, and compliance data. Maintain laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with regulatory requirements. Respond to customer feedback and implement improvements to laboratory services. Participate in strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives. Promote a culture of patient safety, teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in: Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science Chemistry Biology Biochemistry or another applicable applied science field. Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory experience . Strong knowledge of laboratory operations, quality management, and regulatory requirements. In-depth familiarity with College of American Pathologists (CAP) and The Joint Commission requirements. Strong leadership, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation, testing systems, quality control, and laboratory information systems. Preferred Qualifications

ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, HEW, ASM

, or equivalent laboratory certification. Supervisory or management experience in a clinical laboratory. Experience managing inpatient phlebotomy operations. Experience with regulatory inspections, accreditation, quality assurance, and compliance programs. Ability to work on-site full-time. Ability to travel between Boston, Brockton, and Brighton locations as needed.
