Job Description

Shift:
Second Shift Pay:

$25.00 per hour SSTAR is hiring Inpatient Admissions Coordinator for our inpatient facility.. The ATS-Detox unit manages acute withdrawal and prepares patient to continue their recovery by alleviating acute physical and emotional dysfunctions that have resulted from their substance use. The program provides medically monitored detoxification and stabilization to individuals that are dependent on various substances.

Summary:

The Inpatient Admissions Coordinator is a leadership role responsible for coordinating inpatient admissions. This position ensures safe, timely, and compliant admissions. The role serves as a key liaison between referral sources, admissions staff, nursing, clinical leadership, and direct-care staff to support census management, patient safety, and continuity of care

Hours:

Admissions Coordination Receive, triage, and respond to referrals for ATS and CSS admissions Collect and verify intake information, insurance coverage, and authorization details; enter required data into NextGen Monitor and manage bed availability, waiting lists, and admission flow to support appropriate census and client mix Communicate admission decisions, bed availability, and expectations to referral sources and internal teams Collaborate with nursing, admissions staff, and program leadership when clinical or operational concerns arise Prepare and coordinate admission paperwork and track census, conversion rates, AMA rates, and admission trends Coordinate insurance authorizations and benefit explanations with utilization review and billing staff. Maintain updated resource lists for referrals when the facility cannot admit a patient .

General:

Complete all required documentation, checklists, and shift communication accurately and on time Follow incident reporting procedures and immediately report safety or compliance concerns Maintain confidentiality and uphold patient rights, dignity, and privacy at all times Attend required trainings, supervision, and meetings Maintain awareness of agency communications and policies Ability to work in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment . Other duties as assigned

Experience and Skills:
EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED required

WORK EXPERIENCE

Significant experience working in an inpatient SUD treatment setting preferred. Demonstrated leadership, judgment, and ability to manage competing priorities. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. For individuals in recovery, a minimum of one (1) year continuous sobriety required
