Position Summary The Clinical Director provides leadership, oversight, and clinical direction for all treatment services within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based, ethical, and compliant clinical care across all levels of service, including Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), and outpatient programming. The Clinical Director serves as a key member of the leadership team and works collaboratively with clinical, medical, operational, and executive leadership to support exceptional patient care, staff development, regulatory compliance, and continued program growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Clinical Leadership & Oversight Provide clinical leadership, oversight, and supervision to therapists, case managers, and other clinical staff. Ensure clinical services are delivered in accordance with evidence-based practices, professional standards, organizational policies, and ethical guidelines. Oversee clinical assessments, treatment planning, level-of-care determinations, treatment progression, and discharge planning. Serve as a clinical resource for complex cases, crisis situations, risk management concerns, and ethical issues. Promote a patient-centered, trauma-informed, and recovery-oriented approach to treatment. Staff Supervision & Development Provide individual and group clinical supervision in accordance with applicable licensure and regulatory requirements. Support the professional development of clinical staff through training, coaching, mentoring, and ongoing performance feedback. Participate in the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding of clinical team members. Conduct or participate in employee evaluations, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary processes when appropriate. Promote a positive, professional, accountable, and collaborative clinical culture. Program Development & Quality Assurance Develop, implement, and evaluate clinical programming based on patient needs, evidence-based practices, and organizational goals. Monitor clinical outcomes, treatment effectiveness, documentation quality, and continuity of care. Lead and participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives. Identify opportunities to improve clinical workflows, patient outcomes, staff performance, and program effectiveness. Develop and oversee corrective action plans when clinical or documentation concerns are identified. Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities Ensure clinical operations remain compliant with applicable Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), Bureau of Substance Addiction Services (BSAS), Department of Mental Health (DMH), insurance, contractual, and accreditation requirements. Oversee clinical documentation to ensure accuracy, medical necessity, timeliness, and compliance with payer and regulatory standards. Support and participate in licensing reviews, audits, inspections, accreditation surveys, and insurance reviews. Maintain awareness of changes in clinical regulations, licensing requirements, payer expectations, and industry standards. Assist in developing and maintaining clinical policies, procedures, and protocols. Collaboration & Administration Collaborate closely with the Medical Director, executive leadership, operations staff, and other members of the multidisciplinary treatment team. Participate in leadership meetings, clinical meetings, utilization review discussions, and interdisciplinary case consultations. Support census management, staffing models, scheduling, and clinical capacity planning. Promote effective communication and collaboration between clinical, medical, administrative, and operational departments. Assist leadership with strategic planning and the continued development and growth of clinical services. Required Qualifications Master's degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field. Current independent clinical licensure, such as LICSW, LMHC, or LMFT. Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience, including supervisory or leadership experience. Experience working within PHP, IOP, outpatient behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, or comparable levels of care. Strong knowledge of clinical documentation, treatment planning, risk assessment, and standards of care. Preferred Qualifications Experience with behavioral health or substance use disorder program development. Experience with regulatory compliance, licensing, accreditation, or insurance audits. Pay:

$75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
