Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Accounting/Benefits Coordinator to join our healthcare team. In this vital role, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding their billing, insurance benefits, and account inquiries. Your expertise will ensure accurate processing of medical claims, effective communication with insurance providers, and seamless management of patient accounts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a patient-centered environment while utilizing your skills in medical coding, billing, and benefits coordination to improve financial outcomes and patient satisfaction. Responsibilities Review and process patient accounts, including verifying insurance coverage and benefits eligibility Generate and mail patient statements Follow up on unpaid patient balances Assist patients with understanding their benefits, explaining coverage details, and resolving billing discrepancies Maintain comprehensive medical records, ensuring accuracy in documentation related to medical billing and coding Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and billing standards such as DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) classifications and medical terminologySkills Strong knowledge of medical coding including CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10, and DRG classifications Proficiency in medical billing processes and collections within a healthcare setting Experience working with EMR/EHR systems for claim submission and record management Excellent understanding of medical terminology, medical records management, and healthcare policies Ability to navigate insurance benefits, process claims efficiently, and communicate effectively with insurance providers Prior experience in a medical office environment for seamless integration into workflow Attention to detail in handling complex billing data and maintaining accurate documentation Other duties as assigned by Manager Join us in making a difference by ensuring smooth financial operations that support quality patient care. Pay:
$24.00 - $26.00 per hour
