Job description Busy Ophthalmology practice seeking an experienced patient coordinator to join our team. This is a full-time position Monday-Friday. We are looking for a cheerful, dedicated individual who will deliver their very best to their coworkers and every patient, every day, during every interaction.
Responsibilities:
Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and timely manner Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring accurate demographic and insurance information Verify insurance coverage and obtain necessary authorizations and referrals for procedures Prep Charge Slips Collect patient co-pays and process payments Maintain patient records and ensure accuracy of medical information Scan patient documents, imaging, and paper charts into the EMR system Coordinate referrals to specialists as needed Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient operations Display Positive and Team player attitude at all times Complete other administrative duties as directed
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Availability of 8:00AM-5:00PM Three year's experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting Strong attention to detail and accuracy in maintaining patient records Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Knowledge of EMR system preferred Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information Dependable transportation
