Orthopaedic Associates of Maine is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and patient-focused ASC Patient Services Coordinator to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team. In this role, you'll be an important part of the patient experience, serving as a welcoming first point of contact while helping ensure the administrative side of our surgery center runs smoothly. From patient registration and insurance verification to surgical chart preparation and charge reconciliation, you'll work closely with our clinical and administrative teams to support efficient operations and exceptional patient care. What You'll Do Welcome patients and visitors, providing a professional, friendly, and supportive experience. Manage patient check-in and check-out, ensuring registration information is accurate and up to date. Prepare surgical charts and ensure all necessary documentation is complete. Verify insurance coverage, coordinate referrals, and manage procedure pre-authorizations. Collect copays and patient balances and complete daily payment reconciliation. Review and reconcile charge sheets, fee slips, and surgical documentation to support accurate billing. Maintain accurate patient records and scan documentation into the electronic health record (EHR). Collaborate with clinical staff, providers, and revenue cycle teams to coordinate patient care and resolve questions. Answer incoming calls, manage correspondence, and assist with daily administrative operations. Help maintain a welcoming, organized, and efficient surgery center environment. What We're Looking For Associate's degree or equivalent experience, along with at least two years of experience in a medical office, surgery center, or similar healthcare setting. Knowledge of orthopaedic surgery and related clinical workflows and processes. Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Proficiency with computers, Microsoft Office, and electronic systems. Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and professionalism.
A plus:
