Nursing Full Job Description Position Summary:
Guides and mentors' staff in daily activities and decision making for patient care. Serves as a resource to staff during the scheduled shift. Assumes responsibility for the daily functioning of the Patient Care Service area, in accordance with established hospital and nursing policies, procedures and standards.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
1. Monitor and modify patient flow within the departments to maximize efficiency, maintain quality, and promote patient satisfaction. 2. Adjust and allocate nursing assignments to meet the needs of the department. 3. Ensures that quality and appropriate care is maintained/monitored. 4. Report, handle, and document patient incidents, variances in patient care, issues related to quality of care or safety issues. 5. Assist with staffing, scheduling, evaluating, coaching, counseling, and discipline of staff. 6. Assist with all aspects of patient care on an as-needed basis. 7. Address and rectify customer concerns at the time of occurrence in a manner that is acceptable to the customer and the hospital. 8. Assists in the planning and implementation of departmental policies. 9. Maintains and promotes confidentiality of all patients, employees, and physician information. 10. Performs other related job duties as requested.
Qualifications:
Required:
Associate's degree in nursing Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice nursing in Michigan A minimum of 2 years' nursing-related experience
BLS Certification Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in nursing or related health care field
