You are responsible for ensuring that crucial information is available to healthcare providers during patient care interactions. You will collaborate closely with Senior Patient Care Coordinators and support one or more physicians. Obtain and import records from hospitals or other sources electronically or by phone into patients' electronic medical records. Verify insurance, obtain referrals, and secure prior authorizations. Discuss patient account balances and be familiar with the collections policies. Work actions to fill schedules and ensure patients are seen promptly for follow-up care. Regularly review schedules to identify any changes or openings; work with Senior Patient Care Coordinator to keep doctors' schedules are full Handle incoming calls and assist patients as needed, creating telephone encounters to relay information to Senior PCCs and physicians Maintain patient confidentiality and handle protected health information in accordance with HIPAA regulations; training is provided Assist with front desk duties as needed Work as a team player to ensure each patient receives the best service possible Perform any other duties as assigned. Arrange coverage for personal time off and communicate necessary directions when out of the office
Skills/Qualifications:
Proficiency in verbal communication, relationship-building, conflict resolution, and attentive listening Provide excellent patient services Strong organizational and time management abilities Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office products and other computer programs to enhance workflow efficiency Ability to collaborate within a team setting and solve problems Ability to sit, stand, walk, and perform light lifting as required Consistent and reliable attendance is crucial for this position As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will interact with patients daily, setting the tone with your attitude and commitment to high standards of patient care.
