Duties Manage patient appointments by scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming upcoming visits using patient management software and electronic health records (EHR) systems Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and collect necessary documentation while maintaining strict confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) Communicate effectively with patients via phone and in person to address inquiries, provide appointment reminders, and relay important health information Assist medical staff with administrative support including data entry, filing, and updating patient records in compliance with health regulation policies Coordinate with insurance providers to verify coverage, process claims, and resolve billing issues efficiently Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, ensuring all records are complete and up-to-date in electronic health records (EHR) systems Support office operations by managing incoming calls, scheduling appointments, and handling patient correspondence with professionalism and care Qualifications Prior experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting is highly preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication purposes Knowledge of health regulation policies including HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality standards Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly via phone and client interactions Ability to type quickly and accurately to maintain efficient workflow in a busy office environment Knowledge of health insurance processes and policies is a plus Familiarity with medical administrative support tasks such as insurance verification, billing procedures, and appointment scheduling Experience using patient management software and electronic health records (NYMBL/WAYSTER/AVAILITY) systems for efficient data entry and retrieval is a plus.
