Health Unit Coordinator (HUC)Position Scope :
The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) supports the clinical and administrative operations of the community by managing resident medical documentation, scheduling, and communication between nursing staff, physicians, and residents. This role ensures resident orders, medication records, and files are maintained accurately, timely, and confidentially in compliance with Evolve Senior Living standards and state requirements. The HUC partners with the Director of Nursing, HHA staff, and community team members to support efficient office operations and quality resident care. Reports to :Director of Nursing FLSA Status :

Job Function:
Resident Services Help process physician orders and print MD orders. Have staff obtain vital signs and document on orders as directed. Get resident ready for the visiting physician group and prepare their schedule. Check in medications for LPN review and order refills as needed. Order briefs and other supplies monthly. Assist the Director of Nursing with daily nursing items and keep them informed and advised of resident needs and problems as they arise. Print and check the monthly Medication Administration Record (MAR); check for missing initials weekly and monthly. Print HHA schedules daily and complete HHA scheduling biweekly with the RN. Confirm nursing schedules daily and go over schedules and pendant calls daily with the team. Bill pendant calls in the resident care system and process billing accurately. Make recommendations for and address the financial, social, and personal needs of residents. Be receptive to residents' questions, comments, complaints, and service requests, taking prompt corrective action. Assist with setting up appointments and transportation needs of residents. Take appropriate action in case of emergency.Job Function:
Office Support Retrieve phone messages and answer phones regularly, taking messages as needed. Type, as required, tenant summaries, correspondence, contracts, memos, and reports. Establish proper formatting techniques and grammar when typing documents. Assist with program or meeting arrangements for special functions. Maintain resident files, unit files, and appropriate documents as required by management, both monthly and yearly. Maintain confidentiality of all resident and community material at all times. Copy and fax materials as needed. Position Contacts Develop good working relationships with the entire on-site staff. Support the Mission of Evolve Senior Living. Establish positive relationships with residents, guests, vendors, and surrounding community contacts. Actively participate in professional associations related to the job. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in a similar administrative support position, preferably within a senior living or healthcare setting. Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel, and accounting software. Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations. Ability to communicate clearly, accurately, effectively, and patiently, including a courteous and helpful attitude with a keen appreciation of the public relations aspects of this position. Must be able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently, and to type, format, and proofread correspondence, contracts, memos, and reports as required. Must understand and communicate using specialized medical terminology, and maintain confidentiality of all resident and community information. Must be punctual, with a good attendance record, and work effectively as a team member with other personnel, supervisors, and the Director of Nursing.PHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONS
