Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing blood draws and collecting specimens from patients, ensuring a high level of patient care and service. Your expertise in phlebotomy and understanding of clinical laboratory procedures will be essential in providing accurate and timely results for diagnostic testing. You will also be in charge of running our Patient Service Center located in Moberly, MO including opening and closing of the office and coordinating shipments to our main location in St. Louis, MO. Duties Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages. Ensure patient comfort and safety during the blood draw process. Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to infection control protocols. Accurately label specimens and complete necessary documentation. Communicate effectively with patients, providing clear instructions and addressing any concerns. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure proper specimen handling and processing. Stay updated on laboratory procedures, medical terminology, and anatomy knowledge to enhance patient care. Monitor vital signs when necessary, ensuring the well-being of patients during the procedure. Prepare and package specimens for shipment to St. Louis. Qualifications Proven experience in patient service and patient care within a clinical or hospital setting. Strong knowledge of phlebotomy techniques, anatomy, medical terminology, and laboratory procedures. Ability to work independently while managing time effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients quickly. Certification in phlebotomy or relevant field preferred but not required; willingness to obtain certification is essential. Familiarity with clinical laboratory environments is a plus. Must possess strong attention to detail and adhere to safety standards.
