As the Healthy Living/Membership Director at the Riverside Community Center, you'll lead daily operations and shape an exceptional experience for every member who walks through our doors. You'll design wellness programs for all ages and abilities, find new ways to keep members engaged, and build and coach a team grounded in belonging, accountability, and the Y's mission. You'll manage the center's budget, keep the facility safe and ready, and represent the Y in the community. As part of the Platte County Community Center South (PCCCS) leadership team, you'll work with colleagues across centers to strengthen standards, share resources, and grow our impact in the communities we serve. Riverside is a close-knit community just north of downtown Kansas City, and the center is a gathering place for neighbors of all ages, from pickleball players and yoga regulars to seniors who come for monthly dances. Through our partnership with the City of Riverside, residents can join the Y at a reduced rate, making health and wellness accessible to everyone in the community.

Responsibilities Center Leadership & Operations Provide day-to-day operational leadership of Riverside Community Center. Ensure consistent, high-quality member experience at all points of entry and engagement. Oversee building coverage plans including Membership Associates, Pool Gate Attendants, and Building Monitors. Ensure facility cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness. Address member concerns, escalations, and community inquiries. Monitor daily operations to ensure adherence to YMCA policies and procedures. Program Strategy & Delivery (Healthy Living & Member Experience) Design, implement, and evaluate a diverse schedule of wellness programs, classes, and engagement initiatives serving members of all ages and abilities. Align Riverside programming with PCCCS and association-wide strategic priorities. Lead member retention and engagement strategies. Support tour follow-up and onboarding systems connected to health and wellness programming. Identify new program opportunities based on community need and participation trends. Associate Leadership & Supervision Directly supervise assigned associates. Interview, hire, train, schedule, and evaluate associates. Conduct regular team meetings and provide coaching and development. Build a culture of accountability, hospitality, and mission alignment. Ensure adequate staffing coverage and operational continuity. Financial & Administrative Management Develop and manage department budgets for Riverside operations. Monitor revenue performance and expense control. Prepare and evaluate monthly operational and program reports. Support financial sustainability through program growth and retention efforts. Participate in Annual Campaign efforts as assigned. Safety, Risk & Compliance Partner with association safety & risk leadership to ensure compliance standards. Ensure associates maintain required certifications. Enforce safety protocols and risk management procedures. Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies. Ensure building monitors and pool gate attendants are properly trained in safety and access control procedures. Association & PCCCS Leadership Collaboration Serve as an active member of the PCCCS leadership team. Participate in center leadership meetings, strategic planning, and performance reviews. Collaborate with leadership to ensure consistency of standards, staffing philosophy, and member experience. Support cross-center initiatives and shared resource planning. Represent the YMCA at community functions and partnership meetings when appropriate. Qualifications Two years' experience in this or a related field. Two years supervisory experience in leading a team. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a health and wellness field. Adult and Pediatric

FA/CPR/AED.

ACE or AFAA Group Exercise Instructor certification and/or a personal training certification that is accredited through the National Commission for Certifying Agencies. Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions and perceptions. Must be able to reflect a positive attitude. Must be able to manage and monitor department budget. Ability to make independent and sound decisions in a fast-paced environment. Articulate with high skills in written communication.
