Patient Care Coordinators are the beginning and end of a patient's journey. This position involves patient interactions, coordinating care plans, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a passion for delivering excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Please note:
This position has a hybrid option after a 90-day in-office training period. This depends on skill level and performance ability. Duties Meeting, greeting and assisting patients promptly, efficiently, and in a professional manner to provide support throughout their care journey. Schedules and coordinates appointments as well as coordinating walk-in patients according to office protocols. Assist in setting up new patients and updating patients' accounts by compiling accurate information and required paperwork. Responsible for collecting co-payments, deductibles, and co-insurances as well as explaining fees, services, and policies. Responsible for obtaining, verifying, and inputting all information accurately in the system Collect patient payments into the system. Balancing the cash register and ensure all credit card payments are accurate at the end of each day. Explain insurance Handle medical collections and billing inquiries efficiently while maintaining a positive patient experience. Utilize phone systems effectively to communicate with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. Relay important messages to patients from their provider. Collaborate with medical staff to ensure comprehensive patient care and adherence to treatment protocols. Maintain the front desk and reception area in an organized, orderly fashion Maintains confidentiality of patient information as regard to HIPAA laws Skills Excellent verbal and written communication Strong computer skills Strong attention to detail Team player Efficient time management and workload prioritization Strong multitasking skills Schedule Requirements Full-time position (32, 36 or 40 hours per week) Schedules vary due to our clinic hours:
Monday-Thursday:
7:30 AM•7:00
PM, Friday:
7:30 AM•5:00 PM o
Saturday & Sunday:
9:00 AM•3:00 PM Shift lengths: 8-hour shifts Monday-Friday, 6-hour shifts on weekends Hybrid option after a 90-day in-office training period Key Competencies and Skills Ability to contribute to a positive, safe, and supportive work environment Professional, respectful communication with patients and team members Strong multitasking, time management, and prioritization skills Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication Detail-oriented with strong computer and EMR proficiency (preferably eClinicalWorks) Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and integrity Team Expectations Adhere to all McCrimmon Primary Care Plus policies and procedures Collaborate effectively with Patient Coordinators, providers, and leadership Arrive on time, prepared, and dressed in accordance with office standards Demonstrate a positive attitude and contribute to team morale Support teammates and adjust to office needs as required
