You will own staffing and scheduling, accreditation and survey readiness, quality and infection prevention, facility and equipment, inventory, and the operational side of our visiting surgeon program. You will lead a small clinical team: a scrub RN, a surgical medical assistant, and a pool of PRN circulators and surgical technologists. What we are looking for is a leader of systems and people. If you have run an OR or PACU team and you run both the work and the people well, you can do this job. Accreditation experience is a plus but not required. We will teach you our accreditation body and our system. This is a management role, not a staff nursing role. You will keep your clinical skills current and step into the room to circulate or recover patients for breaks, call-outs, and busy days, but a dedicated scrub RN and a PRN pool carry the surgical schedule so that you can lead. You do not need to be a current scrub. What you will own Building the surgical staffing schedule and confirming every case is fully staffed well before the day of surgery.

Anesthesia coverage:

building a reliable CRNA bench, orienting rotating providers to how we run our room, and owning the day-of contingency. Hiring, onboarding, training, and developing the surgery center team; running check-ins and reviews; handling day-to-day employee matters with support from our Director of Operations. QUAD A accreditation and re-certification. Infection prevention, quality improvement studies, safety and emergency preparedness programs, drills, and documentation.

Facility and equipment:

preventive maintenance, biomedical testing, generator, medical gas, laser safety, sterilizers, and vendor management.

Inventory and supply chain:

par levels, implants, medications, controlled substance counts, and cost per case. Agency staffing relationships and spend to continue building our internal PRN bench. The operational side of our visiting surgeon program: block scheduling, staffing, instrumentation, case data, and utilization. Billing and collections sit with our administrative team, not with you.

Qualifications:

Current unrestricted NC or compact RN license. Three or more years of perioperative nursing in a hospital OR, ASC, or office-based surgical facility. Experience running an OR or PACU team (manager, charge nurse, clinical coordinator, or equivalent leadership responsibility). BLS required; ACLS required. You are on site. This role runs the building on operating days and cannot be done remotely. Someone who brings solutions along with the problems, and who is comfortable being the person the room looks to on a surgical day. You are looking for somewhere to stay and build a career. Nice to have, not required Accreditation and survey experience. Direct QUAD A is ideal; AAAHC or Joint Commission translates well. Ambulatory surgery center background.
