Salaried, Exempt Job Overview Our QUAD A-accredited outpatient surgery center in Cary is seeking a full-time Nurse Manager to lead the Center. This position is responsible for the operational and clinical leadership of the surgery center, including staffing and scheduling, accreditation and survey readiness, quality and infection prevention, facility and equipment oversight, inventory management, and the operational side of our growing visiting surgeon program. You will lead a small clinical team consisting of a scrub RN, surgical medical assistant, and a pool of PRN circulators and surgical technologists. We are looking for a leader of both systems and people . If you have successfully led an OR or PACU team and know how to manage both operations and staff, you can be successful in this position. Accreditation experience is preferred but not required. We will teach you our accreditation body and internal systems. This is primarily a management role, not a staff nursing role . You will maintain your clinical skills and step into the room for breaks, call-outs, and particularly busy days. However, a dedicated scrub RN, circulator RN, and PRN team will carry the regular surgical schedule so you can focus on leadership. You do not need to be a current scrub nurse. Responsibilities Build and manage the surgical staffing schedule Confirm that every surgical case, including anesthesia coverage, is appropriately staffed well in advance Hire, onboard, train, and develop surgery center team members Conduct employee check-ins and performance reviews Manage day-to-day employee matters with support from the Director of Operations Maintain QUAD A accreditation documentation and evidence files throughout the year Conduct self-assessments, coordinate accreditation surveys, and address findings Oversee infection prevention and quality improvement initiatives Manage safety and emergency preparedness programs, drills, and required documentation Oversee facility and equipment requirements, including preventive maintenance, biomedical testing, generators, medical gas, laser safety, sterilizers, and vendor relationships Manage inventory and supply chain operations, including par levels, implants, medications, controlled substance counts, cost per case, and budget input Coordinate the operational side of the visiting surgeon program, including block scheduling, staffing, instrumentation, case data, and utilization Manage agency staffing relationships and associated spending Help build and maintain a strong internal PRN staffing pool Billing and collections for the visiting surgeon program will remain with the administrative team. Qualifications Current, unrestricted North Carolina or Compact RN license 3+ years of perioperative nursing experience in a hospital OR, ambulatory surgery center (ASC), or office-based surgical facility 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience, such as: OR Manager PACU Manager Charge Nurse Clinical Coordinator Similar clinical leadership position Current BLS certification Current ACLS certification Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to bring solutions along with identified problems Comfortable serving as the go-to clinical leader during surgical days Interest in building a long-term career with the organization Preferred Qualifications The following are preferred but not required: Accreditation and survey experience Direct QUAD A experience AAAHC or Joint Commission experience Ambulatory surgery center experience Plastic, cosmetic, or aesthetic surgery experience CNOR, RNFA, CIC, or CASC certification Why Join Us?
