POSITION OVERVIEW
The Social Worker and Clinical Services Manager is a fulltime, salaried exempt position that will develop and implement programs, provide counseling and case management, collect data and generally serve as a partner to the Senior Director of Helping in building upon past successes and implementing a vision for future growth. Manager level positions at Jewish for Good are members of the Professional Staff and serve as the face of their department, responsible for all day-to-day operations. This position reports to the Senior Director of Helping.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Clinical Tasks Provide case management, primarily information, support and referral to individuals, couples, and families Maintain a modest caseload of individual therapy clients and facilitate monthly Care Partner Support Group; maintain timely case notes, attendance, and billing information Implement the Financial Assistance Program by providing financial aid to individuals and families in need; maintain accurate records and manage budget appropriately Plan and implement the Food Pantry program, including ordering and distributing food, coordinating with clients, and maintaining accurate records Facilitate the Claims Conference program for Holocaust Survivors, including annual assessments and periodic home visits Provide information and referral about senior living options to older adults looking to relocate to Durham-Chapel Hill Provide advocacy and resource development as appropriate Consult and collaborate with other social service agencies as needed (i.e. Orange County Dept on Aging, Duke Dementia Family Support Program, etc.) Consult and collaborate with other departments and programs as needed Maintain current social work license and keep CEU credits up to date Program/Administrative Tasks Contribute to monthly statistic reports Maintain accurate client contact information and prepare and update clinical documents as needed Review service and program policies with Senior Director of Helping and revise as needed Oversee and facilitate multiple program-based groups with Helping colleagues to meet the needs of older adults in the community; this includes Memory Café, a program for adults with memory loss diagnoses and their loved ones, and Care Partner Support Group
- Coordinate and support LGBTQ+ and parenting programs including Beyond the Binary and Circle of Security
- Coordinate Jewish holiday programming with Helping team, including Sponsor-a-Family and Older Adult Passover Seder, as needed
- Develop and coordinate new community programs, as appropriate Assist with writing grants, as appropriate Orient and support MSW students when needed Assist Director of Volunteer Services with coordinating and communicating with volunteers of Helping programs Provide general planning and hands-on support to Helping team colleagues Provide occasional hands-on support to the Gindes Adult Day Center Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
MSW required, LCSW or LCSW-A required At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in community or clinical social work or similar setting, preferably with experience in a Jewish setting Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills A proven capacity for leadership, including the management of personnel, volunteers and budgets Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Sensitivity to, respect for and knowledge of Jewish values, traditions and ethics Position Benefits As a fulltime, salaried exempt employee this position is eligible for the following benefits:
