Position Information

This is a part-time or temporary non-benefited position.

Description & Details:

Teach an ethics class as a joint project which includes clinical rounds and experience applied ethical decision making in the health care setting.

Advertised Pay:

Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree in Healthcare Ethics, Bioethics, Medical Ethics, Philosophy, Theology, or a closely related field.

Demonstrated academic preparation in ethical analysis, clinical ethics, healthcare law, and health policy.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex ethical issues involving patients, families, clinicians, and healthcare organizations.

Knowledge of ethical principles, healthcare regulations, patient rights, informed consent, decision-making capacity, and end-of-life issues.

Experience delivering ethics education to healthcare professionals.

Ability to communicate complex ethical concepts to diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D.) in Healthcare Ethics, Bioethics, Philosophy, Theology, or a related discipline.
• Completion of formal Clinical Ethics Consultation training or certification.
• Experience serving as a lead clinical ethicist or ethics consultation coordinator.
• Ability to develop educational programs, workshops, and continuing education activities.
