Job Description

Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Director of Pharmacy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. An opportunity is available for a Pharmacy Manager to serve as the working Director of Pharmacy at a small critical access hospital with 25 beds, located in Broken Bow, NE. This role offers a contract-to-hire arrangement, initially for 13 weeks, with the potential for direct hire. The position is well-suited for candidates with strong leadership skills, inpatient hospital pharmacy expertise, and experience in sterile compounding.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide hands-on management of the hospital pharmacy, including overseeing daily operations. Lead and support a team of two pharmacy technicians to ensure efficient and compliant pharmacy services. Perform sterile compounding duties consistent with regulatory standards. Manage staffing, scheduling, and workflow within the pharmacy department. Utilize Paragon for order entry and Pyxis for site automation. Collaborate closely with hospital leadership as the pharmacy department's working director.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Proven pharmacy supervisor or management experience, preferably in a hospital setting. Solid inpatient hospital pharmacy background with a focus on sterile compounding. Knowledge of 340B drug pricing program is a strong plus. Active Nebraska pharmacy license is required. Willingness to work a Monday through Friday schedule, 7am to 5pm, without on-call responsibilities. Open to travel candidates interested in flexible relocation options.
