Job Description

Benefits Manager Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Benefits Manager is responsible for administration, coordination, and management of all employee benefit plans, worker's compensation insurance, and other insurance programs. This role ensures smooth and accurate benefits operations while serving as a key resource to employees regarding benefit options, claims, and enrollment. The Benefits Manager supports staff through clear communication, guidance on benefits processes, and liaison work with insurance carriers. This position also ensures compliance with federal and state regulations, including maintaining a strong knowledge of the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The Benefits Manager maintains accurate records, prepares reports, and upholds strict confidentiality standards as the organization's HIPAA Privacy Officer. This role manages process; no staff management.
Benefits Manager Key Responsibilities:
Enter, update, and verify accuracy of employee benefit enrollment, deletions, and information changes. Collect and maintain information for insurance companies regarding potential claims or risks Submit property loss and liability insurance claims; follow up with employees and insurance representatives Develop and implement procedures to ensure compliance with government regulations related to employee benefits, workers compensation, and other insurance plans Maintain in-depth knowledge of Affordable Care Act (ACA) rules and regulations Track workloads of part-time employees and calculate / submit ACA - related fees. Create and maintain systems required to ensure ACA compliance Serve as HIPAA Privacy Officer, ensuring the confidentiality of employee protected health information Respond to routine HR information requests, including employment verifications Provide benefits information during new employee onboarding Establish, organize, and maintain personnel and department records in both hardcopy and digital formats Determine appropriate systems and methods for data storage, retrieval, and reporting Collect, compile, and tabulate data for administrative and government reports using databases, spreadsheets, and files. Prepare reports and employee benefit statements. Compose original correspondence and produce letters, memos, reports, charts, forms and other HR-related documents Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines Perform other related duties as assigned.
Benefits Manager Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Human Resources, or related field HRIS experience required ADP experience preferred but not required three to five years of related experience or a combination of education and experience aligned with the role's requirements Proficiency with computerized communication and record-keeping programs Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Pay:
$45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
