Total Compensation range: $160k-$200k Are you an experienced orthopedic clinician who has grown into an operational leadership role? Do you enjoy working alongside surgeons, mentoring teams, improving processes, and ensuring patients receive the right care at the right time? We're partnering with a rapidly growing, physician-led orthopedic and musculoskeletal organization seeking an accomplished healthcare leader to oversee its Extremity Orthopedic service line. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone who understands orthopedic surgery, excels at building high-performing teams, and enjoys combining clinical expertise with operational strategy. This position offers a unique opportunity to influence patient care, collaborate directly with orthopedic surgeons, and help drive continued growth across several outpatient practices throughout New Jersey. What You'll Do Lead day-to-day operations for an orthopedic division that includes Sports Medicine and Hand Surgery providers. Evaluate incoming surgical referrals and collaborate with physicians to ensure patients are appropriately routed for consultation and treatment. Review clinical documentation, imaging studies (including MRI), and patient information to help prioritize surgical cases. Partner with orthopedic surgeons, rehabilitation providers, and clinical teams to create efficient care pathways. Coach, mentor, and support department managers and support staff while fostering a collaborative, patient-focused culture. Improve workflows that enhance patient access, scheduling, communication, and overall experience. Monitor operational performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement best practices across multiple locations. Coordinate resources and staffing to support continued practice growth. Travel regularly between outpatient offices while maintaining a presence at the organization's corporate headquarters. Serve as a trusted liaison between physicians, clinical staff, leadership, and referring providers.
Requirements:
Residency-trained Physical Therapists who have transitioned into orthopedic leadership or practice management. Physician Assistants with orthopedic surgery experience who have moved into operational or administrative leadership. Occupational Therapists with extensive orthopedic and leadership backgrounds will also be considered. Active New Jersey PT, PA, or OT license. Minimum five years of orthopedic healthcare experience. Leadership experience within an orthopedic, sports medicine, or surgical practice. Strong understanding of orthopedic imaging and the ability to confidently review MRI findings. Familiarity with surgical scheduling, patient triage, and orthopedic care coordination. Experience leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple practice locations. Excellent communication, coaching, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on operational support.
