The above reflects the anticipated annual salary range for this position if hired to work in Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. The Supervisor of Patient Access manages the daily operations of the department in the area to which they are assigned, ensuring a timely and efficient patient throughput process while providing excellent customer service. The Supervisor ensures that departmental policies and procedures are followed, supervises staff, creates schedules and ensures that the work done by the staff is accurate and meets regulatory and policy standards. The Supervisor provides leadership support to the team while also completing Patient Access functions on a daily basis. As a Supervisor, a typical day might include: Ensures the accuracy and integrity of all registrations, which includes correcting and tracking registration errors via daily reports

Enforces compliance with all departmental policies and procedures in conjunction with the goals and mission statement of the organization

Provides oversight of the educational needs of the staff and address these needs when applicable

Utilizes necessary systems to review daily alerts, address system errors and workflows in order to improve registration accuracy

Responsible for the education of all staff and must ensure all registration staff is competent and recertified yearly on mandatory education and requirements

Achieves expected results and outcomes without compromising RWJBH Mission, values, processes or procedures

Ensures timely registrations of all patients and completes registrations within the department when necessary

Responsible for maintaining adequate staffing levels including the review and completion of staff schedules

Communicates issues and policies to all staff members as it relates to department and ancillary areas

Responsible for monitoring all key performance indicators and creating action plans when goals are not met

Delegates and prioritizes work assignments in relation to the patient's needs and staff s competence

Informs staff of System updates and is responsible for providing any/all pertinent information related to registration issues

Provides clear communication and expectations for staff around KPI s and goals

Reviews and recommends any changes to departmental policies

Maintains open communications with management

Oversees and supervises all department functions including training, onboarding and orientation of all new staff and current staff

Reviews work for accuracy and completeness, utilizing staff scorecards and analyzing the results with them to identify areas of strength and areas requiring improvement

Meets with Leadership to review individual staff scorecards, performance and areas for improvement,

Meets regularly with individual staff to review their scorecards and performance,

Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and a positive demeanor in working with patients, employees and other organizational staff

Responsible for the coaching and development of all staff performing these functions and assisting in implementing short and long-term plans and objectives to improve customer service and collect quality information

Utilizes Performance Management process as identified,

Must provide and contribute to a positive environment that leads to the overall success of revenue cycle and organizational goals

Operates with a high degree of autonomy and authority while working within the framework of RWJBH philosophy and policies

Maintains professional affiliatiion services

You have experience working within healthcare or other related areas which are customer service focused. To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following qualifications:

Required:

High school diploma or equivalent required

Minimum of 3 years of Patient Access experience

Preferred:

Knowledge in all aspects of registration, Insurance Verification, Authorization requirements, Non-Federal and Federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care.

3 years of leadership, oversight of staff experience
