Job Description
An exciting leadership opportunity is available for an experienced perioperative nursing leader to oversee Surgical Services at a community hospital in New Mexico. The Director of Surgical Services will work closely with the CNO to lead department operations while supporting safe and efficient surgical care. 🏥
The Director will have 24-hour accountability for Surgical Services including patient care, staffing, safety, and department performance. This leader will work closely with physicians and hospital leadership to support quality outcomes and effective use of resources.
The Director will also oversee quality improvement and regulatory compliance within the perioperative department. This includes staff education, patient care reviews, policy development, and preparation for regulatory requirements. The role will also contribute to strategic planning for Surgical Services and the hospital.
Qualified candidates should have a current New Mexico or multistate RN license along with CPR and ACLS. A BSN and CNOR are preferred. Candidates should have at least 5 years of progressive perioperative nursing experience. Three years of nursing management experience is preferred.
