Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Clinical Manager is responsible for coordinating day-to-day clinical operations and maintaining facility compliance and funding requirements. The clinical manager ensures substance use treatment and services are provided to each client via appropriate training and management of clinical staff. Clinical Manager also provides leadership and feedback to the clinical team on a consistent basis.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. Ensure the clinical treatment program is effectively administered and meets all compliance and regulatory requirements. 2. Supervise clinical staff and manage counselor caseloads to comply with licensure standards. 3. Identify services and support needed to address client problems and needs. 4. Ensure staff documentation meets the criteria for appropriate level of care according to clinical, funding and billing. 5. Participate as a team member in providing an optimum environment for client recovery. a. Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments utilizing clinical skills and knowledge to diagnose substance abuse/dependency and mental health disorders. b. Work with clients to develop and implement an individualized, clinical treatment plan within twenty-four (24) hours of admission. c. Develop individualized treatment plan based on comprehensive assessment. d. Conduct regularly scheduled treatment plan reviews documenting continuity of care. e. Provide individual and group counseling services to each client as indicated by the therapeutic schedule and treatment plan utilizing multiple therapeutic techniques to assist clients in reaching their goals. f. Ensure appropriate step-down and transition to next level of care i 6. Responsible for case management for COPSD clients to include individual counseling sessions up to three hours per week per client. 7. Coordinate admissions, discharges and treatment plans for detox clients. 8. Participate in the facility Continuous Quality Effectiveness program. 9. Responsible for understanding 3rd party payor process related to verification, authorization and reauthorization. Work with insurance and billing department to actively manage 3rd party payor clients to ensure quality client care and clinical documentation requirements are met. 10. Intervene as necessary on issues relating to client complaints, concerns and operational issues. 11. Work closely with Facility Director to uphold the core principles Provide oversight of facility and team while Facility Director is off-site. 12. Provide initial training and orientation as well as on-going leadership and support to all members of the clinical department to ensure that they have the tools necessary to carry out their job responsibilities. 13. Ensure clinical staff completes all required reports in a timely manner. 14. Ensure clinical staff remains informed of policy and regulatory changes and updates staff on changes as appropriate. 15. Ensure weekly training and observation is conducted and documented with all applicable clinical staff. 16. Ensure completion of Big 5 performance management tool for clinical staff by the required deadlines and use of SMART goals to support annual performance compensation review. 17. Work with the Human Resource Department for staffing, training, employee relations issues, and maintenance of personnel files, documentation and licensure requirements for clinical staff. 18. Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable matters to the Facility Director. 19. Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the exempt functions as defined in this job description.Job Type:
