This leadership position is responsible for ensuring efficient patient registration, insurance verification, scheduling, customer service, and front-end revenue cycle processes. The Admitting Manager will supervise department staff, promote exceptional patient experiences, and support the hospital's financial goals through accurate and timely registration practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Admitting/Patient Access Department. Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate admitting staff. Ensure accurate patient registration, demographic collection, insurance verification, and authorization processes. Monitor department productivity, quality metrics, and customer service standards. Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve workflow efficiency and regulatory compliance. Resolve patient concerns and registration-related issues in a professional and timely manner. Collaborate with clinical departments, Patient Financial Services, and leadership to optimize patient access and revenue cycle performance. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and hospital regulations, including HIPAA requirements. Monitor registration accuracy to reduce claim denials and improve reimbursement. Prepare reports, analyze trends, and recommend process improvements. Assist with budgeting, staffing plans, and departmental strategic initiatives. Participate in hospital committees, projects, and performance improvement activities.
Qualifications Required:
High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of three (3) years of patient access, admitting, registration, or healthcare revenue cycle experience. Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory or management experience. Strong knowledge of insurance verification, authorization requirements, and patient registration processes. Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) and registration systems.
Preferred:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field. Critical Access Hospital experience. Experience with hospital billing and revenue cycle operations. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong leadership and team-building skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Exceptional customer service and conflict-resolution abilities. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance requirements. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
