Surgical Coordinator - Spine, Pain Management & Orthopedics Empire Minimally Invasive Spine and Pain is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Surgical Coordinator to join our growing practice in Plainview, NY . Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule surgical and interventional procedures. Communicate with patients, physicians, hospitals, and ambulatory surgery centers. Obtain insurance authorizations and verify benefits and eligibility for private insurance, no fault and workers compensation. Coordinate medical clearances, laboratory testing, imaging, and other pre-operative requirements. Provide patients with procedure information and pre-operative instructions. Follow up on pending authorizations and outstanding documentation. Maintain an accurate and organized surgical schedule. Track cases from the initial recommendation through completion. Communicate scheduling changes promptly to patients, physicians, and facilities. Maintain accurate documentation within the EMR. Identify potential scheduling or authorization issues before they result in delays or cancellations. Work closely with physicians, clinical staff, billing, and administrative teams. Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance. Qualifications Experience in New York Workers' Compensation, No-Fault and personal injury claims is required. Previous medical office experience preferred. Surgical coordination, procedure scheduling, orthopedics or pain management experience is required. Strong organizational and communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to multitask and manage deadlines. Comfortable learning new systems, terminology, and processes. Professional and patient-focused demeanor. Strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability.
