Job Description
Position Summary Wage $20-$25 hourly The Facility Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for the maintenance, safety, and operation of the facility's physical plant, equipment, and grounds. This position ensures compliance with New York State Department of Health regulations, life safety codes, and facility policies while maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance programs. Direct housekeeping and laundry services Understand and coordinate HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire safety, security, and emergency systems. Conduct routine inspections to identify and correct safety hazards. Coordinate vendors, contractors, and service providers with corporate approval. Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and compliance documentation. Assist with emergency preparedness activities and facility drills. Ensure building and grounds are clean, safe, and well maintained. Participate in Department of Health surveys and inspections. Qualifications Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience; healthcare or assisted living experience preferred. Knowledge of building systems and preventive maintenance practices. Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform maintenance duties throughout the facility. Availability to respond to maintenance emergencies as needed. Reports To Executive Director / Administrator.
