Job Description

Overview The Patient Care Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for our patients and visitors. This role combines compassionate patient engagement with efficient administrative support to ensure smooth daily operations. The ideal candidate is warm, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced, emotionally sensitive environment. Key Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and empathy Answer and direct phone calls; manage voicemail, text and email inquiries Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using EHR system Check patients in and out, ensuring all required documentation is completed Collect co-pays and process payments accurately Assist patients with intake forms and explain office policies Communicate effectively with clinicians to support patient care Maintain patient records in compliance with HIPAA and confidentiality standards Monitor and manage office supplies and inventory Assist with billing inquiries and liaise with billing department as needed Maintain a clean, welcoming reception area Support special projects and office initiatives as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred Prior experience in a medical or behavioral health office Familiarity with EHR systems (e.g., Valant, Athenahealth, Epic, or similar) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and compassion
