Join Cleveland Clinic's Neurological Institute as we expand into a new, one-million-square-foot, 15-floor facility designed to advance care for patients with complex neurological conditions, including stroke, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, movement disorders and spinal conditions. As part of this growth, we are hiring multiple Health Unit Coordinators (HUCs) to support surgical services and neurological care teams across a variety of shifts. This position is ideal for organized, detail-oriented individuals who communicate well with a variety of people, can effectively manage competing priorities, and are familiar with using medical terminology during patient care. You will serve as an important link between patients, families and caregivers, helping facilitate the daily activities that keep patient care running smoothly for an exceptional experience.
Pay range:
$18.25/hr. to $24.95/hr.
Schedule:
This caregiver position is scheduled for an 8-hour shift during the week, no weekends. Current shift options include :
DAYS :
4:00 AM
- 12:30 PM, 5:30 AM
- 2:00 PM, 7:00 AM
- 3:30 PM, 9:00 AM
- 5:30 PM, 9:30 AM
- 6:00
PM EVENING:
1:30 PM
PM NIGHTS:
10:00 PM
AM What You'll Do :
Support multiple units to welcome and orient newly admitted and transferred patients. Room patients, assist with patient flow and help maintain an organized care environment. Respond to patient call lights and support patients' immediate needs. Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges. Assemble, maintain and update patient medical records and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail. Communicate with patients, families and caregivers to ensure a positive experience. Help patients and visitors navigate the hospital and connect with available resources. Coordinate communication and unit activities with nurses and other clinical caregivers. Troubleshoot and coordinate issues with unit equipment and communication devices.
What You'll Need :
High School Diploma or GED One year of experience in a customer service-related role Familiarity with medical terminology and healthcare documentation Experience using computer applications and technology in a professional or educational setting.
What Will Elevate Your Application :
College degree Experience using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel. One year of experience in a healthcare, hospital, or medical office setting with working knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare documentation. Why Cleveland Clinic?
