The Float Pool offers caregivers the ability to support diverse populations across numerous departments, units, and/or locations within the Cleveland Clinic system. This position offers an unmatched opportunity to develop extensive experience in nearly every specialty area of healthcare. As a Health Unit Coordinator, your daily responsibilities will include performing various administrative and clerical tasks to support the organization and flow of the department. Here, you will provide exceptional customer service to patients, families and visitors, ensuring everyone has the best experience possible. This is a regular PRN position, with caregivers working nights between 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Conduct an in-person greeting, welcome and orientation to the unit for newly admitted and transferred patients. Respond to patient call lights and make rounds. Assist with processing patient admissions, transfers and discharges. Assist patients and families with wayfinding and directing them to available resources. Assemble and maintain patient medical records and other documents related to patient care. Handle various computer tasks, such as updating schedules and managing patient information. Assist with unit clerical functions and in trouble-shooting equipment failures, such as call system, portable phones, WOWs and other unit devices. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED One year of experience in a customer service-related role Experience with typing, computer training or equivalent coursework Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: College degree Experience with Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
